HSQE Director

Neil Penney brings a wealth expertise in Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental management within the rail and construction industries. His is deeply committed to fostering a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement across all levels of the organisation. 

Neil's comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance an risk management, coupled with this strategic leadership, has been instrumental in driving ASH Construction Group's commitment to operational safety and environmental stewardship. His proactive approach and attention to detail ensure that ASH consistently meets the highest standards, positioning the company as a leader in HSQE practices across the industry. 

Tony Allday

National Labour & Recruitment Director

With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Tony leads the Labour Department, managing a team of over 500 staff across the Southeast. His department supports a range of railway and highway civils projects, with dedicated labour managers overseeing the successful delivery of framework projects. 

Tony also runs the labour business, which supplies plant and equipment, powered plant, hand tools, and more, ensuring that ASH Construction Group is fully equipped for every project. His leadership has been instrumental in driving efficiency, developing the labour business, and implementing processes that maximise team performance. 

Tony's expertise and strategic oversight have contributed to the successful execution of major projects, including the North London Line (NLRIP), the DLR Royal Mint Street blockade - where his team replaced over 6,000 holding down bolts in just 9 days - Victoria Dock's 5-day Cross Rail blockade, and most recently, East Kent Re-Signalling Phase 2. His commitment to excellence and operational efficiency remains a cornerstone of ASH Construction Group's success. 

Karl Stocker

Civils Project Manager

Karl brings decades of experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully managing station upgrades and extension projects across the Southeast. His expertise spans major civil engineering and building projects, including key developments such as East Grinstead, Caledonian and Barnsbury, and the recent Rainham Station upgrade. 

Karl's extensive industry knowledge and hands-on approach make him the ideal leader for our Civils and Brickwork packages across the UK. His attention to detail and commitment to excellence ensure the successful delivery of complex projects, maintaining ASH Construction Group's reputation for quality and reliability.

Managing Director

Steve has developed extensive rail systems knowledge over his long career in the industry. His passion for people development, operational safety, and delivering high-quality products is at the core of ASH Construction Group's values. 

With deep expertise in Permanent Way and Civil Engineering, Steve's proactive approach and dynamic management style have been key in establishing ASH's reputation for success. He has proven track record of leading major, award-winning projects, including the Gravesend Station Remodelling, North London Line Rail Enhancement, Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL), and Docklands Railway 3 Car Enhancement. Steve's leadership continues to propel ASH forward, ensuring excellence in every project undertaken.
