May Bank Holiday 2021, DLR, Canning Town, London

Over the May Bank holiday, ASH Construction Group successfully completed the full renewal of 1306pts at Canning Town for Transport for London.

This was a design and build project, the existing life expired 39e1 (80lb) SV245 Turnout was removed and upgraded with 56e1 (113lb) Turnout which will now increase the life expectancy.

Our team worked around the clock using an array of heavy plant and equipment Starting Saturday morning and handing back to DLR Monday on time with no accidents or incidents.

ASH Construction Group are committed to achieving environmental best practice throughout our business activities wherever practicable. As part of this project the sleepers were constructed using recycled plastic as opposed to timber or concrete, protecting our natural resources. This increases the service life of the sleeper, reduces the need for maintenance and most importantly diverting over 18000kg of plastic which would normally be sent to landfill.
